A CASE FOR RECLAIMING THE LANGUAGE ABORTION IS CHILD SACRIFICE

Here we are in 2024 preparing for the most consequential presidential election in my lifetime, and ungodly Democrats are actually planning on using abortion as one of the issues they believe will help them win the presidency. Nothing less than the choice between liberty and tyranny hangs in the balance. How far have we descended as a nation that abortion—the killing of innocent human life—can actually be thought of as a selling point for a major political party! More importantly, how can we win the argument to preserve the sanctity of life for the benefit of our posterity and the preservation of the blessings of liberty?

We must reclaim the language. He who establishes the language wins the argument. We have allowed the left to define the argument as one over “abortion.” The word, “abortion” speaks of the rights of the woman, and no one wants to deny women of their rights; that’s understandable, but it says nothing of the rights of the child in the womb. If we’re going to win the argument for the hearts and minds of Americans, we will have to change the language to focus more on the life and the rights of the baby in the womb. We must call it for what it is: “child-sacrifice.” That is not hyperbole or exaggeration. It is, in fact, what abortion is; it is the sacrificing of a baby for the “choice” of another. We must change the subject of the debate from the woman to the baby. In the present debate over abortion, the happiness of the woman is preferred over the life of the baby. That ought not be the case. Most reasonable Americans will agree. We can win that argument.

It will take public leaders to be bold enough to change the terms of the debate. Yes, the left will push back, but we must be firm knowing that truth is on our side. It is, in fact, the sacrifice of a child for the choice of another. That is precisely, “child-sacrifice.”

Let’s win the debate. For the benefit of the yet unborn and the continued greatness of our nation.

RUN TO THE SOUND OF THE TRUMPET!

“Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. 20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!”—Nehemiah 4:19, 20

Nehemiah warned the Israelites who were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, concerning the forces working to undermine their work, people who were already established in the land who didn’t want their lives upset by these Godly people—the Israelites–coming into their land. He knew they would have to fight to rebuild their nation. He gave instructions: When the sound of the trumpet is heard it will indicate a point of attack when all must drop their particular task, and rally to the trumpet call to defeat the enemy at the point of attack.

And so it is today. There is nothing new under the sun. The trumpet call summons us to support President Trump as he is being attacked by those established in government who don’t want their cadre of corruption exposed and swept clean by an outsider who unbeknownst to them, has demonstrated the anointing of God to establish righteousness and justice once again in our nation.

This is not about Donald Trump; it’s about the preservation of liberty and our Republic. We must set aside our petty partisan thinking, and stand together as one. Regardless of what one may think of Trump’s personality, we must all join forces against a corrupt government, unlike any in the annals of American history.
If the other Republican candidates were truly committed to “America First,” they would shut down their campaigns immediately, and show their unflinching support for Donald Trump simply because he is the point of the spear against tyrannical forces seeking to establish an authoritarian government that will control every area of American life. That’s where the trumpet is sounding. That’s where we must all rally.

After this enemy is defeated, then we can go back to our internal squabbles, but until then, we must join ranks and stand strong against the most demonically driven government this nation has ever known.

First of all, we must understand that as Christians, we need to look at this with spiritual vision, beyond what we see in the natural to understand how God is working in the spiritual realm, and then we must cooperate with God to help His agenda advance. It is as Lincoln once said when he was asked if God was on the side of the Union. He said he wasn’t so much concerned about what side God was on, but he was more concerned about getting on God’s side. That must be our perspective.

The charge to us is the very same charge Ben Franklin expressed to Mrs. Powell when she asked him what was given, “A republic Madam, if you can keep it.” Let’s demonstrate our love for our country and our posterity by running to the sound of the trumpet. We will win!

 

WHY WOULD SOMEONE LEAK A CONFIDENTIAL SUPREME COURT DOCUMENT?

May 15, 2022 –

Why was it thinkable for someone on the U.S. Supreme Court staff to think it was okay to leak confidential information as the recent Alito draft, for the first time in the history of the Court?

It’s actually pretty simple.  George Washington gave us the answer in his Farewell address intended to instruct Americans on the dangers that would present themselves challenging the continuance of the republic. He said,

“Let it simply be asked, where is the security for prosperity, for reputation, for lifeif the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in the courts of justice?”

If the sense of religious obligation deserts the oath of office there would be no security. You see, for the first time in American history, in the struggle to manage competing factions and ideologies, one side has renounced the sovereignty of God. In the absence of God, the oath keeper becomes his own ultimate authority, and will make any oath in order to advance his own cause. The ends justifies the means. After all, they are the final authority, and whatever will advance their higher goal is certainly justified.

We, in this nation, have survived under one stable form of government, under one Constitution, longer than any other in world history, because even during such trials as our Civil War, both sides of the conflict had a general reverence for the God of the Bible, and despite their imperfect understanding, they were both restrained by their accountability to God as they understood Him.

Today’s Left has renounced the sovereignty of God, and has, by default, assumed the position of the highest authority. They have become their own god subscribing to the Humanist Manifesto that declares independence from God; man will save himself.

In all of American history we have never experienced a significant segment of our population challenge the importance of the general acknowledgement of God, and our allegiance to pursue a more perfect union in accordance with His rules of order and right.

The danger we face today is that the leftist mindset, being accountable to no higher authority, will assume for itself the power to judge right and wrong, good and bad, who lives and who dies. The left becomes the host for every diabolical power to continue the Luciferian struggle that commenced long ago to dethrone God.

The only solution is a reaffirmation of our national motto: “In God We Trust.” That must be our north star, our rallying standard around which we must all join to continue our pursuit of that more perfect union. A house divided cannot stand. We must reaffirm our unity as “One Nation UNDER God.”

We must learn from our history, and from those leaders who led us successfully through challenges such as Abraham Lincoln who told us,

“… it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God… and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord”

The fissure in our nation will only be healed by a return to God who alone can heal our national wounds and ensure peace and prosperity for our posterity.

SHOULD WE DEFEND UKRAINE?  TO WHAT EXTENT?

Should we defend Ukraine?  To what extent? This question has been rolling around in my mind since Russia first amassed its troops at the Ukrainian border, and now, with the actual invasion, it cries out for an answer.  What does the Bible say? How can we apply it to the current crisis?

Let’s first establish some basic facts.

First, there is still evil in the world. Evolution apparently didn’t lead Vladimir Putin to a higher plane of morality and decency. Human nature has not, and does not change. That’s why Jesus told us that in the last days there would still be wars and rumors of wars. Putin is, in fact, the personification of evil. If evolution was real you would think that after thousands of years man would have learned to live in peace and harmony with his neighbors. Unfortunately, such is not the case.

Secondly, the evil desire for world conquest still lurks in the hearts of demonized leaders who are the natural manifestation of Lucifer’s continuing rebellion against God. Could it be that an alliance of leaders like Putin, Xi Jinping of China, and perhaps the mullahs of Iran and Kim Jong-un of North Korea might convince them to unite against the forces of liberty that represent a real threat to their systems of tyrannical control?

Liberty must be defended wherever it is threatened, or human nature will take its natural course to consolidate power. Freedom is not natural; it is supernatural, and can only thrive where people are willing to govern themselves. The natural state of humanity is authoritarian control. A simple survey world systems provides ample evidence of this truth.

The United States is not immune to conquest. Don’t think it can’t happen here. Ukrainians didn’t think it would happen to them. The Israelites didn’t think it would happen to them, but it did. The Babylonians conquered Israel about six hundred years before Christ, and the nation ceased to exist until 1948 when it experienced a rebirth. The Bible tells us that these things happened to be an example to us, to warn us to never become so complacent that we take our liberty for granted. Thomas Jefferson warned us that, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty”.

So the question is, “Do we have any self-interests in aiding Ukrainians, and if so, to what extent?”

I’m reminded of the speech that President John F. Kennedy never got to deliver because of his assassination in which he was to say,

We in this country, in this generation, are-by destiny rather than choice-the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint…, Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”

So then, what does it mean to “support any friend, oppose any foe in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”?

Can it be that a threat to liberty anywhere is a threat to liberty everywhere? I believe so. In the same way our American Revolution spawned a series of revolutions throughout the western world, I believe it’s possible for such a trend to also work in the reverse. When tyranny finds success in the conquest of liberty it becomes emboldened, and the contagion emboldens other authoritarian tyrants to consider expanding their rule. Consider China and Taiwan.

So, in my view, I believe the current situation in the Ukraine, at the very least, warrants a congressional debate (If that’s at all possible considering the current political climate), concerning the extent of our support for liberty as it is threatened in Ukraine?  Then, we the people, must commit to the consequences of our decision, whatever that decision might be, but let’s at the very least, have that debate.

What does the Bible say about that?

You shall Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” –Jesus

Now, let’s prayerfully consider how to apply that truth in real life.

IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES

Before I responded to the call to the ministry I was successfully developing a career in mechanical design and engineering. One might think that would be totally inconsistent with a calling based on faith. After all, isn’t faith the opposite of engineering and science?

What I’ve learned over the years is that my background in science and engineering has actually helped to bolster my faith. The more I study Biblical principles and see how science actually supports the Biblical narrative the more assured I am that “Thy Word is Truth.”

In the same way God’s Word is verified by experience, we have learned much practical lessons from our marriage counseling practice. We have learned that there are very few issues that can be categorized as irreconcilable differences. Most of even the most difficult issues can be resolved when both parties are committed to the common goal of seeking God’s will for their lives. There has been one issue, however, that has truly been a real irreconcilable difference. That is when one is a believer and the other is not. Unless the unbeliever chooses to genuinely pursue a spiritual transformation, the two individuals see the world through different lenses and have different frames of reference.  Even the words they use mean different things. They pursue different goals. They are a house divided, and Jesus taught us plainly that a house divided cannot stand, (Mark 3:25).

Throughout our history America has overcome times of trial and difficult challenges that would have destroyed any other country. The fact that we have been under one Constitution for more than 230 years is an anomaly in the history of the world. The reason we have overcome all these challenges that would have destroyed any other nation is because despite our differences, the general population has been committed to the common proposition that we are “One Nation Under God.”

Even during the horrendous Civil War, and the years of instability following, both sides were committed to the God of the Bible and were guided by their imperfect understanding of His will for a nation. There was a common standard of honor, of good and of evil. There was a recognition of restraint and respect for one another created in the image of God that superseded political divisions.

For the first time in the history of our nation this is no longer true. For the first time an entire segment of our population does not recognize the God of the Bible as the ultimate authority. They have replaced God with their own sense of right and wrong. They have, in fact, taken the place of God and their opinions have replaced the truth of the Bible.

For the first time in American history our differences are projections of two different worldviews. The “Left” rejects the idea of a sovereign God to whom we must all be accountable. The “Right” still believes there is an authority higher than man, and a fixed law stated in the Bible.

This cleavage, unfortunately, will prove to be one of those irreconcilable differences that will prevent the restoration of national unity and may very well cause a tear in our nation never before seen, even since our very founding.  We may never again be “One Nation Under God.”

There can be only one of two ends to our American story.

If the “Left” prevails, we will see a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah where people will be driven by their carnal impulses. As the Scriptures warn us, good will be called evil and evil called good. As Lincoln warned us in his address to the Young Men’s Lyceum in 1838, we will die by national suicide.

If the “right” prevails it will only be because the remnant of Spirit-filled Christians have gotten on their   knees to fulfill the formula for revival God gave us in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

That will only happen when Christian leaders take their rightful place at the head of the columns to lead the Church in an appeal to Heaven until we see the manifest glory of God tearing down demonic strongholds, and transforming hearts and renewing minds.

This is not speculation; it is certainly no mystery. We have the historical record of Israel to illustrate what happens to a nation when it rejects the sovereign rule of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We have no excuse. Unlike Israel, we have history to be our teacher. We have no excuse. How foolish, and ignorant it would be to know history and repeat it anyway.

One of our greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln, warned us when he said,

“It is the duty nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proved by all of history that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.”

If we are to avoid the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah it will be up to the Church to rise up out of its complacency to lead the way back to God.

Judgment begins in the house of God, and that begins with the clergy. The clergy must rise up out of their comfort zones and begin leading their people to engage the culture to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. It’s no longer acceptable to be the salt in the church and the light in the prayer closet. The Kingdom of God must forcefully advance, rather than passively submitting (Matthew 11:12).

The future of America and the stewardship of liberty is in the hands of the Church. If the Church does not rise up there will be a national divorce. What exactly that will look like, I dare not anticipate, but as has been said, “There’s no such thing as a good divorce.”

We don’t have the power to make things change; God has the power. But God doesn’t have the choice to make the change; we have the choice. It’s a cooperative effort, our choice and God’s power.

Irreconcilable differences? It would take a miracle to overcome. We believe in miracles. With God all things are possible!

 

STATEMENT CONCERNING CRITICAL RACE THEORY

The New York State Faith & Freedom Coalition representing people of faith from Buffalo to Montauk Point, is adamantly opposed to, and condemns the teaching of Critical Race Theory, or its fundamental precepts under any other name, to our children.

It is antithetical to one of our foundational mottos, “One Nation Under God,” and to the fundamental American ideal expressed best by Rev. Martin Luther King that one ought to be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

President Lincoln reminded us of the Biblical truth that a house divided cannot stand, and so we must oppose any attempt to cause division among our children. He also taught us that the philosophy in the classroom of one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next. Critical Race Theory would set us on a projection toward tribalism and conflict, as is already being evidenced.

Not only must we oppose attempts to divide us; we must also reaffirm the basic truth of Americanism that we are “One Nation Under God,” and it is that view that takes precedence over our ethnic or cultural distinctives.

The New York Faith and Freedom Coalition encourages parents to be engaged in this battle for the minds and hearts of our children and will support them as they stand for righteousness, justice and equality as prescribed in our founding documents.

2020 ELECTIONS – PRE AND POST

In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul tells us to
…fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”–2 Cor. 4:18:

In just a few days we will choose leaders of our nation for another four years as well as leaders for state and local elections for their respective terms.

This will be, without question, the most consequential election in the life of this nation since perhaps the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860, and even that is questionable. So I want to talk to you briefly about the significance of this election and how we, as Christians need to vote. Then I want to share what I believe is God’s word to us for the period following the election.

We must look beyond what is seen in the natural. As disciples, we ought to see beyond the natural, and not get caught up in arguments that are meaningless from an eternity perspective. I’m not talking about getting political. Paul tells us in his second letter to Timothy:

No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in the affairs of this life, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.”—2 Tim. 2:4

I am talking about being Biblical and pleasing our commanding officer who commands us to occupy until He comes. First of all I want to make clear what this election is not about.
• It’s not primarily about a contest between Donald Trump and Joe Biden
• It’s not about a contest between Republicans and Democrats
• It’s not even primarily about the U.S. Supreme Court
• It’s not even about the conflict between Black Lives and Blue lives as real as that conflict is

No, if we were contesting for those issues we would be entangled in the affairs of this life. It is much bigger than these temporal issues. It’s about which worldview will dominate our institutions and culture for the coming generations of American life.The Republican worldview as reflected in its platform presumes there is a God, and it is in the God of the Bible that we place our trust, thus our national motto. Public policies must reflect values that originate in God’s mind and heart as revealed in the Bible and interpreted by our imperfect understanding even with the help of the Holy Spirit. As we acknowledge our overruling dependency upon God we affirm that there is an absolute standard of right and wrong expressed in the Holy Scriptures. The platform of the Republican Party reaffirms our belief and trust in God while the platform of the Democrat Party discounts the idea of God and presumes to place human wisdom as the ultimate authority in American life. The danger there is as Dostoevsky told us, “If there is no god than anything is permissible,” including the sacrifice of more than 60 million babies since Roe V. Wade, including defiling the holy institution of marriage by re-defining it to mean what God has called an abomination.

HOW WE HAVE COME TO THIS POINT
Since the 1960s when the Supreme Court—not the people– took God out of our public schools we began the systematic removal of the knowledge of God from all our public and private institutions. We have been slowly but steadily turning away from the God of our Fathers, and by default coming under the god of this world. Like the classic illustration of the frog in the kettle that stays in the water while the flame is turned up one degree at a time, he never feels the difference until he is ultimately boiled alive. His goose is cooked, (I know it’s a mixed metaphor, but you get the idea). And so it has been in America for the last 60 years,
But Donald Trump, the most unlikely vessel, is leading the way back to God. That’s why the opposition is so animated, and even violent because that’s what Satan does. We, who serve God know who our Master is. Those who oppose us believe they are their own bosses while never having a clue about who is really pulling their strings, because he is, after all, the Prince of Darkness, Lucipher, the Deceiver.

President Trump repeatedly reaffirms that we are One Nation Under God, and that must be the rallying point for all our citizens. That is the answer to our racial issues and our economic disparities. Identity politics only serves to divide us. The minute one says “Black Lives Matter” or for that matter, even “Blue Lives Matter” you are dividing us and a house divided cannot stand.

SO WHAT IS GOD’S WORD TO US IN THESE DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION?
First, we must pray like it all depends on God, because it does. Secondly, we must work like it all depends on us, because it does that too. America has already lived way beyond the average life expectancy of a free republic – more than 230 years under One Constitution, unheard of in all of world history. If we lose it, it will be on us. John Adams reminds us that “Liberty once lost is lost forever.”

So let us today, once again as our forebears did for us, let us pledge our lives our fortunes and our sacred honor, first to the One who gave His life for our eternal freedom, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lord and King of all Kings.  And secondly, to pray like it all depends on God and work like it all depends on us to get out the vote, every member of your family, every friend you might have to be sure we preserve the gift of liberty for our children and our grandchildren and live out God’s formula for revival.

WHAT IS GOD’S WORD CONCERNING THE DAY AFTER…OR THE WEEK AFTER…
President Trump will win re-election, but that will mark only the beginning of birth pangs preceding a period of great trial followed by a period of revival and reformation like has never been seen in the history of our nation.

The Church will rise out of its complacency and become relevant once again—not the whole church. In fact, it will be only a faithful remnant of pastors and Christian leaders who will step up to the plate to lead. The prophets will speak to the king once again. The royal priesthood will take its seat of authority at the city gates to rule in righteousness according to the precepts of nature’s God as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. Yes, we will debate what the Word says, but we will not debate that we are all committed to the fact that the law of the Lord is perfect, and our quest is to pursue a more perfect union as we come to better understand God’s perfect law and His plan for America.

We will be One Nation Under God rejecting the idea of a hyphenated American for we are all Americans, “E Pluribus Unum,” Out of many One.

As President Trump opens the door for the Church leading the way, we must occupy with evangelistic Biblical teaching to make disciples of our nation. Every local church, every Bible school and seminary will be called to teach its students the principles of faithful stewardship of the gift of liberty. We will prepare disciples to occupy the seats of government at every level from dog catcher on up. Yet, this will not be without resistance and sacrifice. The powers of Satan will oppose us at every move as we advance the cause of love, virtue and Biblical morality. We must be prepared to give all we have for the One who gave all for us.
Pastors must lead the way, or their lampstands will be removed. We must no longer be intimidated into silence, but be willing to speak of God wherever decisions are being made for our children. God must be mentioned whenever the thought comes to mind without fear of offending but yet with gentleness and respect. God must be an ever-present part of our speech as he is an ever-present part of our lives.

So as we prepare for the year 2021 prepare to go public with your faith. Your personal faith must find public expression to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Prepare for a season of opposition like we have never known here in this country, but also prepare for a season of revival and reformation to bring this nation back to the God of our fathers. Pastors must lead, or get out of the way. Though not every believer is called to be an evangelist, every believer is called to be a witness. Prepare to be an effective, courageous witness to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. No more fear and intimidation; 2021 is about courage, loving courage. We will live out the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14:

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.” –It’s coming. Get on board!
To be part of God’s plan of redemption you must be born again and filled with His Spirit. It will take power, courage and determination until we see America Bless God!

ONE NATION UNDER GOD

We’ve all heard the phrase, “One Nation Under God,” but do we know where it started and what it really means, and does it have any relevance to American life today, or is it just some trite saying made up by some old white men, that is totally meaningless in today’s “progressive” society? In the answer to these questions we find the solution to our nation’s most current and pressing issues.

Let’s first take a look at where it started.
Though the phrase, “under God” can be found in many of the writings of our founding era, we can make particular note of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg address where he dedicated a burial place of fallen soldiers to a new birth of freedom, “under God.” Here’s an excerpt:

“…that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Then, in 1954 the phrase “under God” was added to our Pledge of Allegiance after President Eisenhower was inspired to do so by a sermon he heard in church.

Next, we can go to the motto stamped on all our coinage, “E Pluribus Unum” or “Out of Many, One.” This first appeared on the great seal of the United States in 1782. It has since been one of the traditional mottos of our land.
From these two ideas we get the ideal—One Nation Under God.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
The word “nation” signifies a group of people. According to dictionary.com: “a large body of people, associated with a particular territory, that is sufficiently conscious of its unity to seek or to possess a government peculiarly its own. The idea that we are one nation suggests that we are a group of people that identify as Americans. It is that name, symbolized by one flag that unites us.

Teddy Roosevelt gave a speech to the Knights of Columbus in New York City at a time when many were migrating to the U.S. from Europe, (Oct. 12, 1915). Roosevelt said:

“There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.”

This is just as true of the man who puts ‘native’ before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French (or African, or Hispanic1) before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance. But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as anyone else…The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities…”

The idea that we identify as one people above all others does not negate our cultural or ethnic differences, but it makes those differences subordinate to the unity we find as Americans committed to the ideals expressed in our founding documents.

Abraham Lincoln reminded us, and world history confirms the Biblical truth that a house divided cannot stand. The term “Balkanization” has been entered into our modern lexicon to describe what happens when this unity is lost. The natural state of societies is in fact, Balkanization or “tribalism.” The fact that we have progressed as one nation for over four hundred years is the exception, not the rule, and in that regard, we are, in fact, an exceptional nation.

Foreign enemies like China and Russia whose systems are antithetical to liberty understand what Abraham Lincoln noted as a young man, that this nation will never be conquered by an outside force; if we fail as a nation it will be because we have committed national suicide.*

The “American” banner must be the banner we rally around. The American identity must be the one we all identify with. We must be “one Nation, not many nations or groups, or tribes.

UNDER GOD
The phrase “Under God” has been part of our nation’s DNA from its very founding. The signing of the Mayflower Compact was the first time in world history that a nation was formed by mutual agreement of free people. In that first organic document, the new arrivals stated why they came here: “For the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian religion.” Throughout our history, it has always been a given fact that our liberties have derived from God’s laws. In that sense, we have always been “under God,” accountable to Him and responsible to live according to His instructions as we come to understand them in the Holy Bible. Even Thomas Jefferson, one of the least religious of our founders warned us when he said,

“Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.”

Thomas Jefferson recognized that we must remain, “under God” if we are to continue as a nation of free men and women. We may debate what it means to be under God; we may debate what God’s will is for us; we may debate how His laws should apply to modern life, but we dare not debate whether we are, in fact, under God and subject to His sovereignty unless we are ready to surrender our liberty.

CONCLUSION
So there you have it. The answer to so many of our nation’s ills. It is the answer to our racial and ethnic strife. It is the answer to our sexual and moral confusion. It is the way to continue to grow into that more perfect union envisioned by our founders. So let us raise the banner of our unity above the banners of our diversity, reaffirming once again, that we are One Nation Under God, and we will find that peace and prosperity promised to us by the Author of life himself so that we may pass it on to the next generation.

KNOW  YOUR ENEMY

First of all, anyone seeking to bring down our institutions in order to replace them with a Communist/Socialist System is in every sense of the word, an enemy of the American people. It’s important to note that these attacks on our way of life didn’t come out of nowhere, but they are the product of decades of godless indoctrination in our public institutions.

It’s been reported that some radical activists are rather proud of the Chicago looting, claiming it was “reparations.” As one BLM activist put it, “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance.”

We must understand their thinking if we are to respond with effect. Dostoevsky told us in the Brothers Karamozov, if there is no God than anything is permissible. Without God anyone can establish their own system of right and wrong. This is what our children have been learning for decades in our public/government schools under the guise of “Values Clarification.” You know, you have your truth and I have my truth. So, the looters are justified when they loot because this is their truth. Justice is reparations for the sins of our ancestors, (even if your ancestors had nothing to do with slavery). After all, these businesses have insurance, so we’re really not taking anything away from them. Again, justified. We’re simply taking what is rightfully ours. It’s interesting that the word, “stealing” is nowhere to be heard even by reporters on the scene. After all, the idea of “stealing” comes from the Ten Commandments; God forbid we call it that; the irony!

As long as God is kept out of the conversation there will be no resolution until this nation is destroyed, as President Lincoln warned us, by national suicide. We must come to reassert the only standard that has a chance of drawing all Americans back to some sense of civility, the idea that we are “One Nation Under God.” That must be the neutralizing standard to which we must all ascribe. Outside of that, it’s anyone’s guess if we will have a nation ten years from now. The Word tells us, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,”(Psalm 33:12). Well, the opposite will also be true: Cursed will be the nation whose god is not the Lord. Let’s do all we can to bring God back into the national conversation. Every responsible Christian must pray like it all depends on God and work like it all depends on us to see this nation come back to God.

An Open Letter to America’s Pastors,

We pray this finds you in the best of our Lord’s care, grace and anointing.

You know, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai to restore order to a people that have gone crazy with idol worship, because of his absence, it was a matter of restoring God’s order and reformation to the nation of Israel.

These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.”—1 Cor. 10:11

In the same way it is time for us—the men and women of God who have been entrusted with the Gospel—to come down, and engage a culture on its way to a Sodomite ending. In November, we will choose which God we will serve as a nation. If the people of God do not exercise faithful stewardship of our liberty, our posterity will pay the price for our “complacency in Zion.” We dare not surrender the mission field of government and politics to the enemy.

For most of my years in ministry I have been encouraging pastors to take leadership in the affairs of government and politics. I’ve come to accept the fact that most clergy will not dare to delve into this area of Christian stewardship, so I rejoice in the few that do. It is as Sam Adams taught us,

”it does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

He was familiar with the history of Israel and the Joshua and Caleb minority. Their story has always encouraged me when I’ve felt very much in the minority.  Yet, as we look toward November I believe it’s time to enlarge our minority. Will you join this God-ordained minority to preach the Word as it impacts the stewardship of our liberty?

If Jesus truly is Lord of all, as we profess, then He must also be Lord of our government and politics, and it is the Christian clergy who have been entrusted with the Word of God which alone can bring righteousness to this government “upon His shoulders.” We will have to give account to God for the stewardship of the liberty He has given us. Yes, above all, is liberty from sin, hell death and the grave through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, but also, is the liberty from tyrannical government common to this world. We have the freedom to preach the Gospel, and we must steward that freedom to preserve it. We must be the salt and light He commissioned us to be.

To this end I would ask you to prayerfully consider a few action items:

  1. Designate a Faith & Freedom Sunday and Invite me to come and preach an evangelistic message concerning God’s mandate upon the Church to be actively engaged in the stewardship of our liberties and government, particularly as we look forward to November elections, or preach that message yourself. I’m willing to help with resources, etc.

 

  1. Designate a Church Liaison to attend our monthly meetings in Newburgh to be informed about the issues that impact the Church here in New York State. He/She can then take the information back to the local church for prayer and/or action as the Spirit leads.

 

  1. Help support the mission of the New York Faith & Freedom Coalition from your local missions budget. Our mission field is “the gates of the enemy,” that is wherever leaders gather to make decisions for our families.

 

  1. Schedule a meeting with myself and your board of elders or deacons to help you fulfill the vision God has for your particular congregation to impact your sphere of influence for the Kingdom of God.

 

The Body is held together by each one doing its part. We’re all in this together. We must occupy until He comes. What we cannot do is “nothing.”  If you have any other questions or concerns, I invite you to call or email me. Even if you don’t agree with me, let’s talk about it. None of us have it all together. In fact, Paul reminds us that now “we only see in part.”

The one thing that I am convinced of is the fact that that we are responsible for the stewardship of our civic liberties, and this government and political system entrusted to us by our forebears and by the grace of God.  God will hold us to account as those who have been given the Word of Truth, and the commission to spread it throughout the earth.

We dare not say, “I don’t get involved in politics.” It is part of the Gospel mandate. It is part of the kingdoms of this world that are to become the kingdoms of our Lord and Christ as the Church moves forward in the power of the Holy Spirit.   We must pray for revival and work till He comes!

P.S. I just heard a sermon from a pastor of a large church where he preached from Jeremiah, and of national sins. In the same sermon where he claimed to preach nothing but the word he then tells the hearer to stay out of politics. Where is that in the Word? Pastor, your words have impact. We will all be held accountable. The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it; we dare not encourage our people to withdraw from any of it, but we are to “possess the gates.” We are responsible for the stewardship of this nation and this government “of the people.” God will bless or curse our posterity according to the faithful stewardship we exercise or fail to exercise. The future of this nation is in the hands of the Bible-believing clergy. The Church is responsible for the character of our government. Let’s be found faithful.

LESSONS FROM THE SMOLLETT INCIDENT

The Jussie Smollett incident demonstrates clearly why it is absolutely imperative for people in leadership positions to be persons who openly profess a belief in God and in the system of eternal rewards and punishment.

It appears Mr. Smollett staged the entire episode for any, or all of a variety of nefarious reasons.

But the fact that these types of false accusations of acts of hatred and bigotry against President Trump, his supporters and Conservatives are on the rise are not surprisingly a natural consequence of a growing godless evolutionary worldview typical among Leftists and Progressives.

It appears that Jussie Smollet may have believed he was justified in lying and making false accusations for what he believed was a greater good. The Bible records a time in the history of Israel when there was no king and everyone did what he saw fit in his own eyes. Is that where we are in this nation?

This is precisely why in the wisdom of our founders almost every one of the original thirteen colonies stipulated in their charters that in order for a person to assume a position of public trust he had to affirm a belief in God and in the system of eternal rewards and punishments. Their thinking was that in man’s natural state he would act in ways motivated by self-interest at the cost of the benefit to others. They believed that only an individual who believed there was a God who was watching his every move could actually be trusted with public affairs.

If an individual has no belief in the God of the Bible, who is the source of our inalienable rights, and who alone defines morality, he becomes his own god and can write his own rules, and thus any deception or lie can be justified for the greater good.

That’s why we must choose persons in leadership positions who publicly acknowledge a personal belief in the God of the Bible and in the standard of morality set in Scripture. It was President Lincoln who told us that

“…it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God,… and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.”

More recently, President Ronal Reagan told us that

Without God, there is no virtue, because there’s no prompting of the conscience…Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

So let us learn from the Smollet incident, and the other manufactured crimes aimed at Conservatives, and let us all—left and right—acknowledge, personally and publicly, that we are in fact, “One Nation Under God.” Only then will we be able to truly become “a more perfect union,” and pass on to our children the same liberty, peace and prosperity that our parents passed on to us.

WHY SHOULD I BE PRO-LIFE?

How do we answer the question, “Why should I be pro-life and not pro-choice”

First of all, let’s get the language straight. It’s not between being pro-life and pro-choice, for if that were the case Christians would be the most pro-choice of all, wanting everyone to have the right to choose life, especially the baby in the womb.

The real debate is between being pro-life and pro-abortion.

We are pro-life because abortion is the taking of a life given by God.

And yes, it is a life created at the moment of conception which grows and develops during nine months of pregnancy. During that entire time it is fully human with a full complement of DNA.

The Bible clearly tells us that it is a baby in the womb, not a blob of fetal tissue. There are several Old Testament references to a baby in the womb, and in the New Testament we read about how the baby leaped in Elizabeth’s womb when Mary came to visit.

The more science advances the more it proves that it is a live person in the womb. That’s why today’s younger generation is becoming more pro-life. Science validates our cause.

It’s not part of the woman’s body, but a body all its own with its own nervous system and circulatory system. The baby might even have a different blood type than the Mom. The baby is simply residing and growing in the women’s body. If a friend comes to my home for a visit I do not have the right to dismember them just because they’re in my home. So it is with a baby in the womb.

Legally, we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights that among them are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness–progressive rights.

Women have no more a right to abort their own babies as southern plantation owners had the right to own their own slaves. Abortion is the national sin of this age in the same way slavery was the national sin of prior generations.

Now we must become the resistance against the diabolical agenda of the Cuomo regime in Albany.

On behalf of the little ones who cannot defend themselves we must pledge today even our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor to protect the lives of the unborn, or we will no doubt pay the price for our national sin by national calamity of some kind. (Prov. 24:11-12).

We paid for the sin of slavery with the Civil War because millions people created in the image of God were enslaved by others. To date over 60 million children have been murdered, and women have been heart-broken over the loss of what they knew was a living child while an evil society told them it was OK to abort their child.

God have mercy on those Moms, God have mercy on The U.S.

Cuomo wants to amend the NY Constitution to make abortion a fundamental right.

We must begin work toward a Human Life Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Just because it’s legal, doesn’t make it right. Slavery was once legal. It was never right. Abortion may be legal, but it will never be right.

Our founding fathers taught us that civil law must be consistent with divine law.

We must double our efforts to stand up for the least of these, for those who can’t defend themselves.

We must reach out to Moms who are considering abortion and those who have been hurt by abortion, to fathers who have been hurt by abortion….yes, it hurts men also. Everyone is hurt when a life is taken.

So be informed, be educated on the issues and be willing to speak up, to be the light in the darkness.

It’s up to us to defend the little ones.  English Statesman Edmund Burke told us that, “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” Let it never be said of us.

That is why we must be pro-life and not pro-abortion.

WHY THE LEFT WANTS OPEN BORDERS

Why is it that when President Obama was separating children from parents at the border it was perfectly fine, but when Donald Trump does the very same, it’s a national scandal? Why is it that when President Trump issues and executive order to prevent families from being separated—what the Democrats were whining about—now, it’s not good enough because families are detained together? Will Trump’s actions ever be enough for Democrats?  No.  Why?  It’s because what Democrats really want goes far beyond open borders. It’s about power. The quest for power is one of the fundamental forces driving human nature. That’s why to Democrats the policies enacted are not as important as who it is that is enacting them. If it’s not them, it’s to be rejected, because they dare not accede to someone else’s claim to power.

How do Democrats seek to gain power? By growing the plantation. It’s no different than it was at the time of the writing of our Constitution. There is nothing new under the sun. During America’s formative years the Southern Democrat plantation owners measured their power by the number of slaves they owned. In fact, that was the very reason slaves were counted as three fifths of a person, not because they were thought to be three fifths of a person, but simply because if they were fully counted for congressional representation the South would have had much higher pro-slavery representation in the Congress. The three-fifths clause was actually and anti-slavery provision, but of course, you’ll never hear that from the “progressive” establishment.

The Democrats have not changed their tactics. But, now they need more than African-Americans on the plantation. They need to bring in a new wave of people they can register as Democrats to win more elections to insure their hold on power. They will use anyone, even innocent children, to advance their cause. The ends justifies the means in their book.  Nothing is wrong that serves to undermine and remove Donald Trump from his position of power in their book.  Grow the plantation. Expand federal benefits. Keep them dependent on us, and we’ll be assured to remain in power over them. It’s a demonic strategy at its core, and must be defeated by freedom-loving Americans of every political persuasion. Uninformed Democrats must realize who it is that is pulling their strings and must throw off the control, and think for themselves, or we will cease to be One Nation Under God, and instead become one big plantation under one big plantation owner. God forbid!

 

 

SPIRITUAL STATE OF THE UNION 2018

“Where the righteous rule the people rejoice; when the wicked are in power the people groan.”—Proverbs 29:2

One year ago, Donald J. Trump was inaugurated into office and took his position as the 45th President of the United States.  In a previous article I explained how Trump was a type of a King Cyrus who was called by God to lead the people of Israel to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, though he was not himself a believer. It has always been in God’s nature to select the most unlikely people to advance His purposes, as He did throughout the Bible and throughout American history.

For the past 60 years America has been slowly moving away from her dependency upon God. As a result we have seen a steady decline in the well-being of our society.  The Scriptures are true when they tell us, “Blessed is the nation whose god is the Lord.”—Psalm 33:12. The opposite would then follow: “Cursed is the nation whose god is not the Lord. That is the path we were on until Donald J. Trump took office and declared boldly, “In this nation we don’t worship government; we worship God!” This reminds us of another “unlikely” fellow who became one of our greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln who told us,

“It is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependency upon the overruling power of God… and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.”

God was looking for a man who would boldly declare this truth once again, and he found it in a brash and politically incorrect Donald J. Trump. With his election the nation began a turnaround from the godless direction we were on to one that, once again, will establish that God is the One in whom we place our trust, and it will be His rules for love and order that we will pursue in order to continue to receive His grace and favor for a peaceful and prosperous nation.

However, the powers of Satan will not surrender without a fight, and they have been working overtime to bring down this leader who would dare to proclaim God’s sovereignty over our land. In recent days, it’s become more apparent of the evil we’ve been spared from as news reports are revealing the widespread corruption that was operating at the very top of our federal government agencies intent on preserving their grip of control over our nation. It’s now clear that had Hillary Clinton won the election America would have been under the control of what would have resembled a Soviet style criminal syndicate regime, rather than a government “of the people.”  Thank God for His mercy!

Lance Wallnau, a Christian leader and prophetic voice has likened Trump to a “wrecking ball” that was sent to demolish the works of Satan being established in government, what we now know as “The Deep State.”

Though God raised up a man he could use, our salvation will never be determined by the one in the White House. It will be up to the Church to determine whether this President will be successful in bringing this nation back to God.  There is no assurance. If the Church is not praying like it all depends on God and working like it all depends on us, we may simply be delaying the Day of America’s judgment for yet a little while longer. If the Church rises up out of its complacency we will see the revival and reformation we are all longing for. The promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still true:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The Spiritual state of the Union is good, as we have been loosed from the grip of Satan in our national leadership, and have begun on a road back to becoming once again, One Nation Under God. It will now be up to the people of God to fulfill their duty to their nation as part of their duty to God to be bold and courageous in proclaiming in every area of American life that God is the One in whom we place our trust.  This is no time for “summer soldiers or sunshine patriots.” This is the time to be in prayer for our leaders, to express our faith publicly and to pursue a life of love and holiness as an example to others who need to know the love of God.

We have been singing “God Bless America” long enough. It’s time we turn it around and begin singing—and living a life that says, “America, bless God!
