About Weiner’s Candidacy

The fact that Anthony Weiner is even considered as a viable candidate for New York City mayor is a clear indictment of the moral decay of the general population of the city. Under our system  government at every elected level is a government “of the people,” therefore those in office are a reflection of the population. By this standard it’s clear we are living in a perverted generation. Weiner is an example of the general condition of the populace. Those who would vote for him have no concern for virtue or morality. I would venture to say that the word, “virtue” is probably not even part of their vocabulary. What President Garfield told us about Congress is true about government leaders at every level:

“The people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities.”

Let’s pray that New York City residents still have enough virtue in their mindset to reject an immoral pervert, because whoever the Mayor is, he will reflect the character of New Yorkers.

Bill, you have indeed diagnosed the cancer in our country. Men like Weiner, Spitzer, Clinton, or Obama are simply pathetic symptoms of the disease that, from all observations, appears to have metastasized. To be sure, we have always had people in power who were immoral and lacked attributes once cherished in a civil society, character and integrity. What alarms those who hunger and thirst for righteousness is that immorality, mendacity, perversion, murder, deception and treason are uncovered and the ensuing revelations have absolutely no impact on a very large portion of our population. There are fools in high places ushering us down the path to destruction because there are too many “dead men walking” who not only put them there, but celebrate their master’s lifestyles and repeatedly reward them by re-installing them in positions of power and authority. I fully expect a majority of voters in New York City and it’s boroughs to elect Anthony Weiner as their next mayor. Hosea 4:6 resonates up and down Broadway. Who will have ears to hear?

  1. What is really sad is that the cultural leaders think this is “progress.” If they continue down this path they will actually “regress” back to the barbarism of the jungle where anything goes and might makes right. As Billy Graham reminded us, if God lets us get away with this, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. We must continue to pray for New Yorkers. After all, we are New Yorkers.

  2. Bill, how could you be so critical and politically incorrect. Telling the truth will only get you in trouble and ultimately a place in paradise!

I am so frustrated these days as I see out Nation go down the tubes while Congress looks on. Our only chance is to warn them and trust in the Lord!
    Ezekiel 33

    New King James Version (NKJV)
    The Watchman and His Message

33 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, 3 when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, 4 then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’

7 “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

  3. Yup. Duty is ours; results are God’s.
